Bubble Shoot is a game for Android that is similar to the classic Snood and other block-breaker style games. The game is incredibly addictive and can have players hooked for hours at a time.

Most players who have been playing video games for any respectable amount of time will be familiar with the style of play found in Bubble Shoot. The player controls a firing mechanism on the bottom of the screen, and there are multiple rows of bubbles aligned above the mechanism. The object of the game is to shoot groups of bubbles of the same color with another bubble of the same color, and the entire bunch will disappear. By connecting groups of bubble with the same color, players can eliminate larger swathes of the game board with only one bubble. After the player has removed all the bubbles from the playing area, the level is complete.

To add a level of difficulty to the game, the rows of bubbles move down toward the firing mechanism as the game clock ticks. This forces the player to move faster if they want to avoid failing the level. Once the bubbles reach the ground where the firing mechanism rests, the attempt is over.

Bubble Shoot takes the standard block-breaker game format and attempts to keep it fresh by including power-ups and other bubbles that offer special abilities. Some bubbles explode and clear an area of the board, some expand and push other bubbles out of the way, and some change the color of surrounding bubbles so they all match. There are also unique items like stones in the mix that provide even more variety.

The two primary game modes in Bubble Shoot are Puzzle Mode and Arcade Mode. Arcade Mode is the standard game type in which players must clear the bubbles before they descend too low, and the Puzzle Mode offers players a limited number of bubbles to fire at a stationary design to eliminate the bubbles in the design. The game includes 180 total levels, so there is quite a bit of content to play through. Arcade Mode also include coins that can be collected to increase progress even further.

It only takes a few levels for Bubble Shoot to become almost maddeningly difficult, which is part of why the game is so addictive. Players will spend hours waiting for the perfect combination of bubbles to come from the firing mechanism, and it often seems as if the game purposely delays those combinations to infuriate or stall players.

Visually, the game is beautiful. The backgrounds are vibrant and engaging, and the bubbles themselves enjoy multiple color varieties. Those who have trouble distinguishing color can use the Colorblind Mode to play the game with symbols on the bubbles instead of colors, so accessibility isn't an issue. Sound effects in the game are also top-notch, and the game has special tones for premium combos. The music itself is a bit distracting, but players who find it too annoying can mute it.
